Since starting on healing protocols several years ago, my immune system is now functioning at optimal efficacy, and I have managed to kick the common cold in 1-2 days max in the past. This has been my experience. While I am not a doctor, I can tell you what works for me. I always go with the holistic route before deciding if I need synthetic medications.

A funny thing called super STRESS finally caught up with me. The last few weeks of my life have been a whirlwind of unpleasantries, angry emotions, pernicious thoughts, heightened adrenaline, and toxic corrosive cortisol coursing through my body. I will spare you the details.

As I write this, I am on day 3 of one of those monthly flus, not the average common cold. Yes there is actually a new flu strain every month, some of you may already know that, and for those who are just learning, this is critical information to have. Because knowledge is power you can do things that help prevent, and/or address illness when it inevitably knocks on your door. I have not been this sick in a very long time. The last time I was severely ill was the summer of 2016, when I had walking pneumonia.

Stress is a big factor in health. Even though I am so super careful about what I put into my body (99.99% of the time), what I expose my Self to, while honoring all the different components of the Circle of Life, as I work on the emotional release of resentments, the self care, the self love, the breathing exercises, and meditations, yoga, movement, nature bathing, cardio, pilates, infrared sauna, and more; this nasty little culprit called stress STILL managed to bring me down. This hasn’t been your ordinary day-to-day kind of stress either.

I am working on a gentler way to mange my emotions going forward. I know I need to be kinder to my Self. It’s easy to get burned by my own fire. I realize now that I must be extra careful in managing my stress levels.

I am going to abstain from dosage recommendations. Dosage recommendations are something I can assist with in a health coaching call. Dosages are personalized, everybody is bio-individual. I will link the supplements for you in case you want to read more about them, or purchase something.


In general I put a lot of effort into my health and well-being. I take a variety of herbs, and supplements everyday. In addition to my usual morning routine/cleanse which consists of 32 oz. anti-viral detox honey lemon thyme ginger water, Nascent iodine, Vitamin B12 (as adenosylcobalamin with methylcobalamin), Zinc. Followed by some type of melon or papaya, HMDS (heavy metal detox smoothie) – I have added on top of that even more healing tools to get my body back to a strong and healthy state. Right now I am experiencing nasal drip, sore lungs, and a painful dry cough. My abs are getting a major workout. Being sick is no fun for Marianna. I hate getting sick. I am such a baby when I do fall sick. I really cannot stand it. It slows me down and I don’t have time that. I am pulling out ALL the plant allies and natural healers from my arsenal. I hope I didn’t forget anything!

Everyday I am taking a super power multi-vitamin, Celery force, 5-MTHF, B-complex, Cat’s claw, Chaga, Curcumin, EPA+DHA (fish free), Lemon balm, Licorice root, L-lysine, Lomatium root, 5-HTP, Dulse, Spiurlina, Barley grass juice powder, Magnesium glycinate, Melatonin, Monolaurin, , Mullein leaf, Nettle leaf, Vitamin D3, Ashwaganda, Amla berry powder, Bladderwrack, Glutathione, MSM, Olive leaf, Micro-C. I take the herbs in a shot glass, 2x a day, and chase that herbal cocktail down with wild blueberry juice or orange juice. As mentioned I am not able to share dosages with you because everyones dosage will be different depending on symptoms and/or health conditions. Normally the dosages listed on the bottle are the minimum, but most people would benefit greatly by upping that suggestion.

Many of you know I am a self healer in my home. I have yet to see a doctor since 2019 when I received my autoimmune diagnosis of Hashimotos thyroiditis. I think doctors are incredible and they help with so many things, like emergency surgeries, organ transplants, broken bones, gun shot wounds, life and death situations and critical care for deathly wounds and infections, etc. From years of experience seeing a plentitude of different kinds of medical doctors, and naturopaths , my belief is now that when it comes to treating the root cause of an illness (any illness really) , not many know about holistic healing. Not many know about effective alcohol-free herbal tinctures, effective clean supplements, pure and potent essential oils, optimal nutrition , stress management, etc. The food pyramids are all different depending on which country you are living in. I can only speak to the food pyramid in America. And I must confess . . . I strongly disagree that this is the way we should be eating.

I know I don’t want a band-aid to mask my symptoms, (some of you may want that, and thats OK too). I strongly believe everyone should do what they feel most comfortable with. I am not 100% against allopathic medicine. For me personally, and for my family, I need something holistic, integrative and effective. I believe the Earth has so much to offer in terms of natural solutions, when we take the time to learn about them. Thats why I have taken on the very possible, yet difficult and complex task of becoming a self-healer in my own home. There very well may be some amazing holistic medical doctors in the world. Doctors who know how to root down to help you rise up. Doctors who don’t just medicate, that actually spend the time to get to the root cause of a symptom, of an illness, of a disease, of a mental health disorder and more. Let’s face it. Most doctors don’t have time for all that. Thats just not how the medical industrial complex is designed to work.

I added in a few extras I don’t normally take daily (although I probably should especially when my stress is heightened). Whether you want to avoid the doctor, or just go a more holistic route – there are ways you can self-treat at home.

Zinc shock therapy is happening every 2 hours, as well as Vitamin-C shock therapy. Upping my dosage of the HMDS, extra thyme anti-viral water that I add fresh lemon juice, raw organic honey and ginger juice to. I added in Goldenseal. This one I usually take for 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. I needed a break from juicing so I ordered a bunch of CJ from a local raw trusted organic juice shop. 16 oz (3x extra between meals + 16oz. before bed). Yeah thats a lot of CJ, but I don’t have time to be sick. And CJ breaks down pathogens, viral activity, and unproductive bacteria in the GUT , so I figure the more the better.

Additionally, Olive leaf herb is in the rotation. Manuka honey with raw garlic, it tastes good actually. Elderberry is another one I keep forgetting to take daily, I broke it out for this bout of illness, N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine to help break down mucus in my lungs and clear it better, homeopathy because I’ve been using it since 2008 on the kids and it always seems to work. I used Allium Cepa and Aconitum Napellus as well as Peppermint essential oil to bring down a slight fever. There are some other homeopathic treatments I could have used, but I didnt. I am very fluent in these different modalities, I have always found value in taking the time to learn how to use natural solutions of all kinds. I have thousands of hours of research under my belt over the years, nearly two decades of experience treating my own children and an intensive library of books specific to natural healing remedies to guide me. I always say, a worried Mother does better research than the FBI.

Let us not forget about the magical powers of essential oils. Essential oils are common practice in European countries by medical doctors, but for some reason American doctors discount their healing abilities and potent properties. You need to make sure the essential oils you are using are pure, and un-adulterated which is unfortunately quite common in the industry. My favorite way to use Breathe essential oil is to put one drop in the palm of my hand, rub my hands together, and cup over my mouth and nose and inhale. I use Eucalyptus, Melaleuca and Frankincense in a hot steaming mug, with a towel over my head to clear congestion. On Guard protective blend goes into the diffusers all around the house to kill airborne pathogens. Thyme essential oil mixed with FCO applied to the bottoms of my feet (add socks), Frankincense – cellular support – pressed to the roof of my mouth, via my thumb to combat a headache, One drop of Oregano oil in my Chaga mushroom tea. Cilantro, Melaleuca, Rosemary, and Black pepper essential oils for immune support, in my personal diffuser (I am sitting near it 3x a day for just 30 minutes for this aromatherapy to have an effect on my lungs and sinuses), I also used these same oils (in a DIY rollerball) topically over my spine (with a carrier oil, fractionated coconut oil) , Arborvitae essential oil has incredible immune supporting benefits, so that goes directly over my throat and glands. Breathe stick over my chest, and another DIY blend with Frankie, + On Guard on the bottoms of my feet, and of course Propolis and Lemon essential oil in my smoothies to give them that extra citrus twist and immune boosting action. Lemon essential oil provides additional detoxifying action to cells. I also took On Guard soft gels. No more than 7 drops internally of the essential oils, per day, for safety purposes. Let us not forget the power of On Guard Protective throat drops and Breathe Respiratory drops. They are amazing for on the go, especially for dog walks. This saline sinus rinse helps flush out the sinuses, and helps with dryness. For extra dryness protection I apply a thin layer of Correct-X to the insides of my nostrils. Some people like to use a Nettie pot for saline sinus rinse. I just use the regular plastic bottle for now. I also used this colloidal silver internally , the sinus spray and face spray over my entire face and ears.

I’m staying fully hydrated, drinking a ton of fresh juices, coconut water, herbal teas of all kinds, leafy greens and fruit smoothies for additional antioxidant support. and no cooked foods while I heal, except on day 4 I did start to feel a lot better so I had some baked potatoes with a tiny amount of olive oil. All raw and fat-free mostly, assists the virus to flush out quickly.

I am killing it with all the things, and not feeding it any mucous producing foods. I don’t normally eat mucous producing foods, which I think makes it a bit easier for me. This may be more challenging for someone who loves to eat cheese, animal proteins and even gluten (all very acidifying , mucous producing foods for the body). Any day is a good day to go completely raw vegan fat-free, but its absolutely critical for a sick day. I didn’t feel too hungry during this time, so maybe you will be able to go fat-free next time you get sick too. I don’t drink chicken broth – too much fat – and I don’t need it to feel better. I prefer a fresh raw juice over a bone broth any day. In fact fatty bone broths, contrary to popular belief slow down the healing process. I finally landed on this truth which opened my eyes even wider than ever before several years ago. Believe me, I used to think chicken bone broth was good for colds too. It is age-old health information that has been passed down through the generations. Just because something is common knowledge, and traditionally believed doesn’t mean it’s true. In fact the reason why people get that temporary feeling of wellness from bone broths is because they are ingesting the adrenalin of the animal from when it was slaughtered. Adrenalin gives people a false sense of feeling better when they are under the weather. I personally don’t need it, but if you do , I say do what feels best for you. You are the master of your body, and you know better than anyone else what you need. But at least you know the truth behind that ancient belief.

So you see folks, it is possible to self-treat at home with natural remedies. OTC drugs are filled with MSG, caffeine and many other toxins. These synthetics mask symptoms, the very thing you need to be aware of, to help your body find true healing. Symptoms are signals. Suppressing symptoms inevitably leads to bigger health problems down the road. We must listen closely to our symptoms and get to the root cause of them, if we are to heal completely, and not cover them up in search of a temporary fix. It’s so important to listen closely to your symptoms. Your body is communicating with you. Synthetics have obvious side effects, and they are extremely damaging to the liver and other organs, especially long term. I personally would never recommend them to my clients. When you have access to these pure and potent plant allies, I always go with nature first and it always works for me. In fact, nature has yet to fail me. When applied with correct knowledge, nature wont ever let you down.

There’s always the conventional allopathic route to go to if you doubt natural plant medicines. It is so so conventional and common to just go see a doctor and take whatever they give you, that most people take the easy way out. But there is still no actual cure for a common cold or for a flu. You have to simply stay hydrated, and rest – according the the doctor. There is no magic pill to cure a cold/flu. The majority of doctors hardly know anything about holistic healing pathways. I never said healing organically was going to be easy. You have to really want it for yourself, and you have to really know how to do it, or hire a health and happiness practitioner, like me, to help you.

I know many are still waiting on me to talk about my naturally healing journey with BV from August 2021. Several of my health coaching clients got the gist of it when they needed support for their own yeast infections. There is only so many hours in a day, and so much to do. Sometimes when life gets in the way of my writings, time passes and the spark gets dim, but I have all my notes on it, and how to do it so divine timing will make it happen. I am living proof that it works!! This excites me. And when I finally do post it I will leave it right here 👉🏻
